Shanimanadevappa who acted in many of the Dr Rajakumar films, knew his nature, humbleness, memory power, taste for good habits said Dr Rajakumar is ‘Shathamana Purusha’. As a ‘Shudra’ I taught Dr Raj the sacred ‘Gayathri Mantra’ he took seriously and went on reciting the hymn for a long time and found it fruitful in his life. That was enough to describe the velocity of the victorious personality Dr Rajakumar!
Bengaluru Nagesh another senior actor selected for this award by Smt Parvathamma Rajakumar explained in his perspective that Dr Rajakumar was like ‘Gandharva’ – he was called as ‘Gana Gandharva’ on earth but he is from the heaven on earth sent by Gods to keep the people happy. Dr Rajakumar did his job over 70 years enthralled everyone and heaven wanted this ‘Gandharva’ back. So they took him leaving a permanent stamp in the heart of the people. That is Rajakumarji. Bengaluru Nagesh remembered the memory power quoting the English lines he taught were perfect from Dr Rajakumar. Another incident of pages of dialogues told in front of the Samadhi of the mother in ‘Mayoor’ was something unimaginable from any actor. Only Dr Rajakumar could do such performances he said.
K Devi the first one to speak was emotional and that was natural. Selecting me for this honor is something beyond my imagination. Devi collected tears in her speech remembering Dr Rajakumar qualities.
Raghavendra Rajakumar reciting the lord Hanuman song addressed on this occasion and he with Shivanna and Puneeth Rajakumar honored the three personalities selected for this year.
